A competitive performance in collaboration with artist Aidan Strudwick where participants race to see who can build their flat pack furniture first. The first section of the performance was a 'construction' of mass consumption of popular culture; the construction of the coffee tables, assembled by audience participants. Meat balls were in our costumes and were fed to the contestants.
The second section of the performance was a 'DE construction of mass consumption of popular culture. The performance included solo acappella songs to Abba, while one of us smashed up the previously constructed coffee table. Then we sang thank you for the music by ABBA. While two audience members continued to smash up the already smashed up coffee tables.
